The 2008 Pichi Richi marathon attracted 359 runners and walkers to compete in different events: the full marathon, half marathon run, half marathon walk and the 10 km run/walk. There also was plenty of entertainment for the spectators with several stands and activities at the Quorn oval.

It was a fine day, but unfortunately for the partciipants, a strong head wind was blowing. This made their achievements even more admirable. Crowned as King and Queen of the Ranges were Paul Greenwood and Mandy Towler respectively.
